A paradise for trekking: Val Senales in summer

Trekking in Val Senales in summer is a real insider tip. Here you will find quiet hiking trails where you are often all alone. Many of them start right outside the door of the Piccolo Hotel Gurschler and already at an altitude of 2,011 metres. Which means that every step counts as altitude training. There is also plenty of variety off the hiking trails, including the via ferratas, the Ötzi Rope Park high ropes course, a 3D archery course, mountain carts as well as lots of cultural highlights.

Discover Val Senales step by step

From the vineyards at the valley entrance to the glaciers at the end: the Val Senales valley offers the full range of hiking opportunities. The Ötzi Glacier Tour is a very special tour to where Ötzi was discovered, as well as the glacier tour into the 50 metre deep ice cave. Those who prefer to stay in the valley can hike around the Vernago reservoir or hike from farm to farm.

There is always something going on in Val Senales: guided hikes with a local hiking guide, tastings on an organic farm, a day trip to the site where Ötzi was found, a guided tour of the monastery or introduction courses to climbing. We will be happy to provide you with information about the daily offers of the tourism association.

Visitors to the Val Senales have a good set of cards

With the SummerCard you can climb into the Lazaun cable car, cruise down the valley with the mountain carts, discover the valley using public transport, take part in guided hikes or cultural tours and much more. All this for just € 29.90 for adults and € 15.00 for children and young people.
